Job summary

Theisen's Home-Farm-Auto in Cedar Rapids, IA seeks a Senior Automotive Associate to assist customers with questions and purchases of automotive items, and to perform tire and battery installations, oil changes, and general shop duties. The role supports senior mechanics and store teams, requiring 3–12 months of automotive experience and a valid driver’s license.

This position offers both full-time and part-time shifts, opportunities to work with a variety of auto products, and a team‑oriented

Qualifications

• 3–12 months of automotive maintenance experience required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Must be 18+ years of age due to OSHA requirements.
• Satisfactory completion of NRHA test.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions, where to find merchandise, and advise on proper items based on needs.
• Assist automotive associates with difficult customer problems and/or concerns.
• Maintain knowledge of all products in auto department and general knowledge of other departments.
• Complete and process required warranty information.
• Install and/or check tires and batteries; perform oil changes and lubrication.
• Notify senior mechanic or manager before performing complex repairs or installations.
• Use proper tools and safety equipment to replace and test batteries and tires.
• Operate hoist, tire machines, air wrenches, torque wrench, and tire spin balancer.
• Dispose of waste oil, filters, antifreeze, and other waste safely.
• Keep the shop clean and organized; assist in stocking and displays as needed.
