Job summary

MSX International is seeking an Engineering Garage Assistant in Fountain Valley, CA to support the development of standardized repair timelines by documenting labor steps with lead technicians and recording procedural data.

You will ensure accurate data capture, track tool usage, and help prep vehicles for delivery back to field service, while maintaining a clean and organized shop environment. This entry-level role provides hands-on exposure to automotive service workflows.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Microsoft Office 365 proficiency esp. Outlook & basic Excel.
• DMS experience not required but is a plus.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Organizational skills (time management, scheduling, prioritizing).
• Able to work in an automotive shop environment.
• Clean driving record and employment background.

Responsibilities

• Document labor time studies and create a final report based on findings.
• Familiar with navigating online resources and standard automotive service information; use MS Office efficiently.
• Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Perform detailed daily record keeping and reporting.
• Locate and receive shipment of parts.
• Follow and promote safety, cleanliness, and organization standards.
• Maintain 5S standards and a clean, organized work environment.
• Move and wash vehicles as needed; assist supervisor as directed.
