Position Summary

The Senior Technician diagnoses drivability and electrical systems, and uses leadership skills to mentor team members, enhancing customer satisfaction.

Pay Range: $18.00 - $30.94

Technicians are paid based on a performance system called flat-rate pay, rewarding efficiency and skill.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair brake, hydraulic, exhaust, fuel ignition, electrical, suspension, alignment, air conditioning, and computer systems.
  • Explain technical diagnoses and repairs clearly to non-mechanical customers.
  • Stay current with automotive technology through ongoing paid training.
  • Assist and train other technicians.
  • Obtain or maintain A.S.E. certifications within two years, with company-paid testing fees and bonuses for passing tests.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive customer and company vehicles.
  • Skill in brakes, hydraulics, steering, suspension, and alignments.
  • Experience in automotive maintenance and tire repair.
  • Relevant federal, state, or local certifications/licenses.
  • Ability to communicate technical info to non-technical customers.
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of automotive repair experience or vocational training.
  • A.S.E. certification in at least one area (L1 certification acceptable).
