Job summary

Magna Seating in Novi, MI is seeking a Mechanical Engineer specialized in fastener engineering to design, validate and release automotive seating joints. You will work with application engineering and management to ensure robust fastener solutions across programs.

Responsibilities include developing joint analyses, maintaining 3D CAD models, and supporting DFMEA / design reviews while aligning with ISO/TS quality standards. Travel and cross-functional collaboration may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with strong emphasis on mechanical design.
• 3 years of fastener engineering experience; 5 years preferred.
• Experience with DFMEA, DVP&R, APQP, DFSS tools and root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, standardize, release and validate mechanically fastened joints for automotive seating.
• Develop fastener designs, evaluate tolerances, and perform joint analyses.
• Manage 3D CAD and 2D drawings using CATIA, NX and PLM software.
• Support product development from concept through production launch and participate in reviews.
• Provide technical support during supplier and customer meetings and ensure compliance with standards.
• Investigate issues and implement corrective actions across programs.
