Job summary

Oetiker is seeking a Sales Engineer to drive growth across Michigan, focusing on Automotive and Industrial Manufacturing segments including Thermal Management, Driveshaft, Steering, and Air Intake systems.

In this role you will develop new business, manage key customer relationships, provide technical field service, and coordinate resolutions with internal teams. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical experience is required along with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level engineering degree or related technical experience.
• Strong knowledge of automotive or industrial systems is preferred.
• Experience in sales and customer-facing roles is required.
• Travel willingness and ability to support Michigan region.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales growth and manage customer relationships throughout Michigan.
• Protect, grow, and support sales for regional and national customers.
• Develop new business through prospecting, opportunity identification, and relationship management.
• Grow the Clamps and Rings business in Automotive and Industrial markets (thermals, driveshafts, steering, air intake).
• Manage sales opportunities, forecasts, and activities using CRM systems.
• Support customer complaints and provide field service, coordinating resolutions with internal teams.
• Partner with Key Account Managers and local production facilities on strategic initiatives.
• Effectively manage time, travel, resources, and professional development to maximize sales.
• Travel ~50% to support customers and develop business across Michigan.
