Job summary

Royal Oak Ford Sales is seeking an experienced Automotive Repair Technician to diagnose and perform mid-level mechanical repairs and diagnostics in our busy service department.

You will handle a variety of repair orders, from steering and suspension to brakes and electrical systems, maximizing flat-rate hours while maintaining quality. Expect growth through paid training and OEM certification programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2–4 years of professional automotive repair experience.
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical automotive systems.
• Must possess a comprehensive set of personal tools and a rolling toolbox.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostics & Repair: Diagnose and repair automotive systems including engines, transmissions, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, and air conditioning.
• Multi-Point Inspections: Conduct digital vehicle inspections and explain safety concerns and maintenance items to service advisors.
• Efficiency & Precision: Complete repair orders safely and efficiently per dealership standards to minimize comebacks.
• Documentation: Clearly document all work performed, diagnostic steps, and parts needed.
• Team Collaboration: Work with service advisors, parts staff, and foreman to ensure smooth workflow and timely vehicle delivery.
• Continuous Learning: Participate in paid manufacturer training and certification courses to stay current.
