Reconditioning Service Manager

Chariot Automotive Group, one of North Central Indiana’s fastest growing automotive groups, is seeking an experienced Reconditioning Service Manager to join our team in the Central Indiana area.

The Reconditioning Service Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Reconditioning Center, including workflow, performance management, quality assurance, and meeting our standards for vehicles purchased at auction or traded in, ensuring they are ready for retail sale.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the dealership maintains a sufficient supply of high-quality vehicles to meet sales demand.
  • Evaluate team performance, provide feedback, and review performance statistics regularly.
  • Hire, train, manage, and retain service team members, including advisors and technicians.
  • Communicate effectively and resolve conflicts with customers, employees, and co-workers.
  • Meet financial objectives by estimating requirements, preparing budgets, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Manage factory standards for warranty claims.
  • Maintain high CSI ratings by promptly and appropriately handling customer complaints.
  • Implement a customer follow-up system to encourage repeat and referral business.
  • Set department goals, monitor progress, analyze results, and implement improvements.
  • Manage shop productivity, labor hours, costs of sale, and operating expenses to ensure profitability.
Qualifications:
  • At least two years of service management experience in an automotive dealership.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
  • Proven leadership skills with successful automotive retail management experience.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Valid, clean Indiana driver’s license.
  • Ability to work extended hours and Saturdays.
  • Focus on providing excellent customer service.
