Job summary
LAEPPLE Automotive is seeking a dependable Quality Technician in Detroit to inspect automotive components across incoming, in-process, and finished stages. You will verify dimensional, cosmetic, and functional requirements per drawings and GD&T, support containment activities, and drive quality improvements.
The role requires 2+ years in automotive quality inspection, familiarity with PFMEA, PPAP, SPC, and MSA, and the ability to work in a lean, team-based environment with potential shift
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Associate degree in Quality, Manufacturing Technology, or related field is a plus.
- 2+ years of quality inspection experience in automotive manufacturing.
- Experience inspecting Class A molded, stamped, and welded parts.
- Working experience with SPC, control plans, PFMEA, PPAP and MSA preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform incoming, in-process, first-piece, last-piece and final inspections.
- Verify dimensional, cosmetic, and functional requirements per drawings and GD&T.
- Conduct visual inspections of Class A surfaces for defects.
- Review blueprints, engineering specs, PPAP and quality standards.
- Identify, document, and report nonconforming material.
- Support containment activities and drive continuous improvement.
