Job summary

Laepple Automotive is seeking a Dimensional Quality Engineer in Detroit to lead correlation/linearity studies, generate dimensional reports, and perform SPC analyses to drive improvements in manufacturing quality.

The role requires GD&T knowledge, 3+ years in automotive dimensional testing, and experience with Polyworks and laser scanning. You will support new product launches, develop control plans and PFMEA, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet KPIs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with GD&T certification.
Minimum 3 years of dimensional testing and analysis in automotive manufacturing.
Experience with Polyworks software and laser scanning.
Proficient Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

Review part and assembly data with tolerance reviews and dimensional reports.
Prepare presentations summarizing results, findings and next steps.
Drive dimensional quality improvements through cross-functional collaboration and root cause analysis.
Support new product launches and continuous improvement initiatives.
Lead Gauge R&R tests and validations for measuring equipment.
Develop dimensional control plans and PFMEA improvements.
Maintain and update quality documentation to capture lessons learned.
