Job summary

Northern Stamping, Inc. is seeking a Quality Engineer to support the quality function for new products and engineering changes at our Cuyahoga Heights, OH facility.

The role focuses on supplier assessments, PPAP coordination, and root cause analysis to ensure delivery of high-quality components. Reporting to the Quality Systems Manager, you will drive APQP activities, participate in ECN execution, and monitor quality performance across suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or a minimum five (5) years of experience at a Tier 1 supplier or equivalent in a high volume automotive manufacturing company
• Demonstrated knowledge of IATF16949/ISO9001:2015 Quality Management System
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team in planning, follow up and successful execution of deliverables
• Project team/management experience
• Proficiency in APQP techniques, FMEA, process flow diagram, process control plan, quality measurement and statistical techniques, quality tools, and poka yoke techniques
• Working knowledge and application of SPC techniques (capability studies, trend analysis)
• Proficiency with MS Office; Minitab experience a plus
• Proficiency in Value Stream Mapping

Responsibilities

• Quality assurance of all direct material including process assessment, process control plans, PFMEAs, inspection plans, and statistical data
• Supplier quality management
• Supplier quality performance monitoring and reporting
• PPAP coordination of direct vendor material
• Review and disposition of supplier PPAPs
• Achieve Quality, Cost, and Delivery targets with volume and new product launches
• Quality planning and assurance for engineering changes (ECRs) including process layout and flow, SPC and poka yokes
• Maintain and interpret SPC data
