Job summary

PennEngineering in Waterford, MI, is seeking a Quality Engineer to support the Quality Department in maintaining product and process compliance for cold-headed automotive fasteners. This role handles document and gage control, nonconforming material disposition, inspection and calibration activities, and cross-functional support for continuous improvement.

You will collaborate with Quality Technicians and the PPAP Coordinator, perform defect-part analysis, and contribute to audits and IATF

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree, or 7 years of equivalent experience.
Proficient with inspection, measurement, and test equipment used for 100% inspection of cold-headed automotive fasteners.
Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 and IATF requirements.
Basic understanding of metallurgical testing.
Proficient with company databases and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Maintain control of production documents, records, and gages.
Determine disposition of internal and supplier nonconforming product.
Order lab chemicals and equipment/gauges, and schedule calibration services.
Support Quality Technicians and the PPAP Coordinator as required.
Perform defective-part analysis to support root cause investigations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Demonstrate strong problem-solving methods (RCAs, corrective actions, preventive actions) per IATF procedures.
Perform process and product audits.
