Job summary

Cooper Standard Automotive in Spring Lake, MI is seeking a Quality Engineer who will support APQP, PPAP, customer concerns, and gauging activities to ensure compliance with TS 16949 and ISO 14001.

You will establish and implement process control plans, participate in LPA and PPAP, perform capability studies, and drive continuous improvement on the manufacturing floor; travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in quality, engineering or related field.
• 2-3 years' experience in a quality role, automotive preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong problem-solving and judgement from multiple sources.
• Proven leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Establish and implement process control plans including Gage R&R studies.
• Provide quality documents to manufacturing floor (control plans, control cards, visual aids, work instructions).
• Monitor processes for conformance to control plans and customer requirements.
• Participate in APQP.
• Prepare and submit PPAP packages meeting customer requirements.
• Develop SPC activities and implement new techniques.
• Perform capability studies on new jobs and other situations as needed.
• Conduct Layered Process Audits per plan.
• Ensure housekeeping and safety standards are maintained.
• Comply with TS 16949 and ISO 14001.
• Utilize continuous improvement concepts including Lean.
• May perform additional duties as needed.
