Job summary

TAC Manufacturing, Inc. in Jackson, MI seeks a Quality Engineering lead to drive Advanced Product Quality Planning and PPAP submissions for new tooling and components.

You will collaborate with engineering, suppliers, and customers to define quality requirements during development and launch. You will conduct DFMEA/PFMEA, develop robust Control Plans, perform MSA/Gage R&R, and oversee GD&T interpretation of drawings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in automotive product launch quality.
• Experience with AIAG Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA).
• Familiarity with CMM programming, DOE, and statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab).
• Strong communication, project management, and customer-facing skills.
• Prior experience supporting zero-defect launches in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead APQP activities for new product introductions aligning with customer expectations and internal standards.
• Manage PPAP submissions and launch readiness documentation for tooling and components.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, suppliers, and customers to define and validate quality requirements.
• Conduct DFMEA/PFMEA and develop robust Control Plans for launch programs.
• Perform MSA and Gage R&R to ensure inspection reliability and repeatability.
• Lead dimensional tooling reviews and support validation of stamping, injection molding, and die casting processes.
• Utilize GD&T and interpret engineering drawings to support launch quality activities.
• Drive containment plans, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for non-conformances.
• Develop and implement inspection criteria, work instructions, and quality check procedures for new product builds.
• Report program status, risks, and countermeasures to executive leadership and customers.
