Job summary

Magna Powertrain in the United States is seeking a Project Engineer to support the Program Management team in planning and executing engineering projects and division-wide changes.

You will coordinate cross-functional teams across Engineering, Quality, Production, Purchasing, and Maintenance to ensure changes are implemented on schedule and aligned with customer requirements. Strong CAD and MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; equivalent education and experience accepted.
• 3–5 years of experience in a technical or engineering role in automotive manufacturing; project management or cross-functional project experience preferred.
• Knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 requirements.
• Knowledge of APQP and AIAG Core Tools.
• Experience with engineering changes, change management, or project coordination preferred.
• Familiarity with CNC machining and automotive manufacturing processes.
• CAD proficiency with SolidWorks or similar tools; ability to prepare drawings and layouts.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience with change impact analysis on quality, production, tooling, and timing.

Responsibilities

• Support the Program Management team in planning and executing projects and initiatives.
• Lead division-wide change management activities; ensure changes are evaluated, approved, implemented, and sustained.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams through engineering, process, and equipment changes.
• Develop and maintain project timelines, action plans, milestones, and deliverables.
• Track progress and communicate status, risks, and required actions to leadership.
• Facilitate cross-functional meetings and ensure action items are completed.
• Evaluate impact of changes on quality, production, capacity, tooling, and cost.
• Coordinate documentation, trials, validations, and implementation activities.
