Job summary

Pi Square Technologies seeks an experienced Power Electronics Engineer to lead drive-level design and validation for automotive power electronics. The role focuses on 800V+ high-voltage systems, buck and boost topologies, and rigorous HIL testing using NI VeriStand.

Responsibilities include board-level design, circuit validation, DFMEA support, EMI/EMC analysis, and integration with Powertrain Inverter systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in power electronics
• Strong knowledge of power electronics circuit design and validation
• Hands-on experience with Buck and Boost converter topologies
• Experience with high-voltage systems (800V+) and high-current switches
• Knowledge of worst-case circuit analysis, component failure modes, and DFMEA
• Understanding of EMI/EMC principles and their impact on circuit design
• Experience with inductor and filter design and testing
• Hands-on experience with soldering, oscilloscopes, multimeters, PXIe systems, interfacing sensors, DCE, EME, and high-voltage power supplies
• Familiarity with schematic design, PCB design, and circuit simulation software
• Experience with power electronics HIL testing using NI VeriStand

Responsibilities

• Perform Gen4 EME board-level circuit design and testing, including Buck tray, Boost tray, and Supervisory Board circuits.
• Design and validate circuits to meet customer requirements and performance specifications at both circuit and product levels.
• Set up and integrate EME and DCE systems with the Powertrain Inverter system.
• Conduct circuit analysis, troubleshoot hardware issues, and prepare detailed system evaluation reports.
• Perform worst-case circuit analysis and evaluate component failure modes.
• Support Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
• Evaluate high-voltage (800V+) and high-current switching applications.
• Assess EMI/EMC implications of circuit and component design choices.
• Design and test inductors and filters.
• Execute power electronics HIL testing using NI VeriStand.
