Job summary

Delta Electronics Americas is seeking a Field Application Engineer (FAE) to serve as the primary technical interface with automotive customer engineering teams. You will support design-in, validation, launch, and production issue resolution for power electronics and passive components, coordinating with global engineering teams in Asia.

You will lead technical discussions, review specifications, and drive design choices for current-sense resistors, inductors, and related components.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline with 5+ years design, applications, validation, or product engineering experience.
• Working knowledge of power electronics including DC/DC converters, inverters, power distribution, filtering, and current sensing.
• Ability to interpret schematics, PCB layouts, component specifications, automotive requirements, and test data.
• Hands-on lab capability with listed equipment (oscilloscopes, probes, power supplies, loads, LCR meters, DAQ, thermal tools, CAN).

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discussions with customer electrical, mechanical, systems, validation, quality, and manufacturing engineers.
• Translate customer specs and test results into clear requirements for Cyntec's global engineering teams.
• Recommend and support design-in of current-sense resistors, power inductors, chokes, transformers, and related components.
• Review component selection for electrical, thermal, mechanical, reliability, and manufacturability risks.
• Plan and execute bench testing and failure analysis with appropriate test equipment.
• Lead 8D and RMA activities and maintain clear technical records and customer updates.
• Support customer validation, prototype builds, product launches, and on-site quality issues in Southeast Michigan and North America.
