Job summary

Sika is seeking a detail‑oriented scientist to join the high‑performing R&D team developing polyurethane adhesive technologies for automotive OEMs. You will support formulation development, testing, and laboratory operations within the Automotive Division.

The ideal candidate has an Associate Degree in a related field and 5–7 years of industrial lab experience, with strong documentation skills and proficiency in MS Office.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related scientific discipline required.
• Minimum 5–7 years of relevant industrial laboratory experience.
• Experience in laboratory environments and safe material testing.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Fundamental understanding of experimental design, material testing, and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Prepare formulations and conduct laboratory-scale and pilot-scale experiments.
• Perform chemical, physical, rheological, and performance testing of polyurethane adhesive systems.
• Evaluate new and existing formulations using internal and automotive test methods.
• Conduct mechanical testing to support product development and investigations.
• Participate in product characterization and validation activities.
• Perform analytical testing as required.
• Safely handle raw materials and manage routine lab activities.
• Support troubleshooting and root cause investigations.
