Job summary

Sika Corporation in Lyndhurst, NJ, is seeking a chemist to maintain and develop new products for the automotive OEM market in North America.

You will run TCP, PDP, PMP activities, manage projects from idea proposal to product release, transfer technologies to production, and collaborate with sales, marketing, EHS, and operations. Travel ~10% and a strong background in polyurethane chemistry and QC are required.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/Ph.D in Chemistry, Polymer Science or Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2+ years hands-on polyurethane chemistry experience in automotive OEM market.
• Strong oral communication, technical presentation and writing skills.
• Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Experience with Design of Experiments, FMEA and quality programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Independently run TCP, PDP, PMP and scout activities per internal processes.
• Manage projects from idea to product release according to PCP process.
• Define QC requirements for short and long term product quality.
• Transfer new products/technologies to production plants and supervise trials.
• Identify second source suppliers and approve alternative materials.
• Attend technical presentations and interpret customer specs.
• Visit customer sites and provide technical solutions.
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, EHS, production and operations.
