Job summary

LyondellBasell is seeking a Technology Development Engineer to own the full lifecycle of polypropylene compounds for automotive applications. You will drive development from concept through commercialization, coordinating scale-up, quality planning, and OEM approvals.

Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration with suppliers and customers are essential. Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in polymer compound development or technical support, with knowledge of automotive OEM processes

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Polymer Science & Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
• Master’s or PhD preferred.
• 3+ years in polymer or polymer compound development and/or technical support.
• Automotive market experience including OEM approval processes and automotive quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of new polypropylene compounds for automotive applications, from concept through commercialization.
• Support compound scale up, manufacturing readiness, quality planning, and OEM approval processes.
• Provide technical support for existing commercial PP compound products.
• Serve as center of excellence for a defined set of raw materials and suppliers; collaborate to expand material capabilities and share best practices.
