Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Platform Software Validation Engineer for a 1-year contract, onsite in Palo Alto or Long Beach. You will drive post-silicon bench testing on microcontrollers, validating RTD, STM, automotive Ethernet, and bootloaders, while aligning with ISO 26262 safety goals and developing Python-based test frameworks.

The role requires strong embedded development experience, Python scripting, and expertise in automotive protocols (ADAS/UE).

Qualifications

• Education: B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field.
• Hands-on experience debugging and validating microcontrollers (ESP32 etc).
• Deep understanding of automotive networking protocols (Automotive Ethernet, CAN FD, LIN, UDS/ISO 14229).
• Familiarity with Realtek Ethernet transceivers/switches and low-level peripheral timers (STM).
• Knowledge of ISO 26262 processes, HSIs, and safety-critical testing techniques.
• Fluent in Python for bench automation; C for embedded software inspection.

Responsibilities

• Post-Silicon Bench Testing & Hardware Validation on evaluation boards and ECUs.
• Configure and validate hardware peripherals (STM, memory protection units, interrupt controllers).
• Validate PHY/switch drivers for high-speed automotive Ethernet.
• Architect and execute test strategies for bootloaders and flashing via UDS over CAN/Ethernet.
• Develop automated regression test frameworks in Python; target-side C/C++/Rust tests.
