Job summary

Robert Brogden Buick GMC is seeking a Parts Counter person to support the team and provide customers with exceptional experiences. Automotive Parts experience is required.

The successful candidate will handle the full parts sales process, read catalogs, and ensure accurate pricing and timely parts delivery in a fast-paced dealership environment. Responsibilities include assisting customers, quotes, stock checks, order setup for shipment or pickup, and coordinating with the service department.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience with auto parts sales is preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills are required.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
• Ability to calculate discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the parts sales process from start to finish.
• Communicate with customers on parts status.
• Communicate with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Read and understand the parts catalog when looking up parts.
• Answer phone calls, provide price quotes and other information.
• Review body shop estimates to ensure correct parts and pricing.
• Provide high level service to internal and external customers.
• Pull and fill orders from stock.
• Maintain weekly bin checks to ensure stock accuracy.
• Notify parts manager of out-of-stock parts or materials needing attention.
• Locate out-of-stock parts from outside sources and submit emergency orders if necessary.
• Ensure internal requests for parts are billed on service repair orders.
• Receive payment from retail customers or obtain credit authorization.
• Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up.
