Job summary

Haley Chevrolet in Midlothian, VA is seeking an Automotive Parts Clerk to help customers find the right auto parts and manage inventory. You will provide product information, suggest related items, handle returns, and maintain sales records in a fast-paced environment.

Parts deliveries are required when needed. Key duties include stocking and posting orders, assisting the parts manager, processing stock orders, handling special-order parts, and ensuring credits and warranties are properly

Qualifications

• Experience in auto parts retail or service environment.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Stocks and posts incoming orders.
• Makes Parts deliveries when necessary.
• Assists parts manager in processing stock orders.
• Notifies appropriate parties when special-order parts arrive.
• Provides necessary information to the warranty department to allow prompt filing of parts warranties.
• Reviews files to determine unused items and recommends disposal of excess stock.
• Ensures that credits are received for returned parts.
• Returns parts as needed and removes from inventory after credit is received.
• Returns cores in a timely manner and follows up for receipt of credit.
• Matches packing list and invoices, approves, and forwards to Parts Manager.
• Files company copies of parts counter invoices.
• Assists in preparing for and performing annual parts inventory.
• Assists in annual parts returns.
• Assists with parts department telephone coverage.
• Assists counter people with check, insurance and credit card processing when possible.
• Keeps parts area clean and uncluttered.
• Maintains professional appearance.
• Other tasks as assigned.
