Root is seeking a Senior Software Engineer on the Automotive Partnerships team to design and build scalable integrations with automakers, mobility platforms, and partner systems. You will own features end-to-end, shape architecture, and mentor other engineers while collaborating across product, design, and external partners.

You'll write high-quality code, participate in thoughtful reviews, and help drive operational excellence, while balancing delivery and maintainability in a fast-moving

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience on production systems.
• Strong Backend with Ruby on Rails.
• Experience with distributed systems and cloud infrastructure.
• Ability to own features with limited oversight.
• Strong data modeling, performance and reliability understanding.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration.

Responsabilités

• Design, build, and maintain core services, APIs, and workflows
• Own features end-to-end, from technical design through production support
• Collaborate with product, design, engineering, and external partner teams to translate business needs into well-architected technical solutions
• Contribute to system design discussions and help evolve service architecture
• Write high-quality, well-tested code and participate in thoughtful code reviews
• Help identify and reduce technical debt while balancing delivery and maintainability
• Mentor and support other engineers through pairing, code reviews, and knowledge sharing
• Participate in on-call rotations and contribute to operational excellence
