General Summary:

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for all aspects of the paint application process, minor repairs, sanding, grinding, and paint preparation. On an as-needed basis, also responsible for duties of Cosmetic Reconditioning Associate II, Flow Inventory Associate II, Senior Reconditioning Associate, and Senior Reconditioning Associate I.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Complete paint application
• Perform minor repairs, including sanding and grinding
• Prepare paint, including color matching and mixing
• Participate in problem-solving and continuous improvement activities with the team
• Execute standardized work as defined
• Ensure all vehicles meet CarMax Paint Standards
• Maintain, repair, and clean all equipment as required
• Maintain proper inventory levels of PPE, tools, and chemicals for all Senior Reconditioning Associates
• Ensure workplace cleanliness and organization according to CarMax 5S standards
• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers
• Perform interior and exterior detailing, interior repair, inventory, and paint preparation functions
• Complete duties as assigned by managers

• Meet performance standards for various Associate roles
• Complete workstation certifications
• Ability to read, interpret, and transcribe data accurately
• Discern appropriate paint colors for vehicle reconditioning
• Perform duties in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
• Lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs
• Effective communication skills
• Complete CarMax training in all functional areas for cross-training

Working Conditions:

• Indoor and outdoor environments, including noisy and inclement weather conditions
• Adherence to policies including Time and Attendance, Asset Protection, and Professional Standards
• Follow government regulations (OSHA, EPA)
• Extended walking or standing
• Variable shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours
• Use of PPE and proper waste disposal
