Job Title: Automotive Reconditioning Specialist

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, responsible for all aspects of paint application, minor repairs, sanding, grinding, and paint preparation. Also performs duties related to cosmetic reconditioning, inventory management, and vehicle detailing as needed.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Complete paint application and minor repairs including sanding and grinding.
2. Prepare paint, match colors, and mix paints accurately.
3. Participate in problem-solving and continuous improvement activities.
4. Ensure all vehicles meet CarMax paint standards.
5. Maintain, repair, and clean equipment regularly.
6. Manage inventory levels of PPE, tools, and chemicals.
7. Maintain workplace cleanliness following CarMax 5S standards.
8. Provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients.
9. Perform interior and exterior detailing, interior repairs, and paint prep functions.
10. Complete additional duties as assigned by management.

Job Requirements:

• Complete New Associate Orientation and Kronos training.
• Meet performance standards for various reconditioning roles.
• Successfully complete workstation certifications.
• Ability to read, interpret, and transcribe data accurately.
• Discern appropriate paint colors for vehicle reconditioning.
• Perform multiple duties in a fast-paced environment.
• Lift objects up to 50 lbs.
• Effective communication skills in dealing with customers and colleagues.
• Complete all required training for functional area coverage.

Working Conditions:

• Indoor and outdoor environments, possibly noisy or inclement weather.
• Adherence to all policies and safety regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards.
• Extended walking or standing periods.
• Variable shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
