Nissan Smyrna seeks a Current Model Paint Engineering Intern to join our team in Smyrna, TN. You will work with robotics systems, paint suppliers, equipment contractors, and plant production teams to deliver a beautiful, durable paint finish on every vehicle.

The internship offers hands-on experience with paint shop automation and advanced manufacturing technology, supporting a sealer robot cell launch and high-efficiency paint applicators during the summer shutdown.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in a related engineering field.

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on experience with paint shop automation systems and advanced manufacturing technologies.
• Support the launch and implementation of a new sealer robot cell and high-transfer-efficiency paint applicators during the summer shutdown period.
• Assist with quality validation and uptime performance assessments for newly installed equipment.
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, production, and supplier teams to support project execution.
• Identify opportunities to improve paint shop cost, quality, efficiency, and throughput performance.

Education

Undergraduate or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field
