Responsibilities

  • Support project planning activities for paint automation equipment installations.
  • Assist with implementation of automation projects during the summer shutdown.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, maintenance, and supplier teams to ensure project success.

This internship offers an exciting opportunity to work with a highly driven engineering team responsible for planning, implementing, and supporting paint automation projects within a manufacturing environment. The intern will gain hands-on experience working on automation equipment installations and large-scale projects that support vehicle production and operational excellence.

A Day in the Life:
  • Support project planning activities for paint automation equipment installations.
  • Assist with the implementation of automation projects during the summer shutdown period.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, maintenance, and supplier teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Develop and maintain project timelines, schedules, and progress updates.
  • Provide hands‑on support during equipment installation, startup, and commissioning activities.
Who We’re Looking for:
  • Required: Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering field.
  • Students entering their Junior, Senior year at the start of the upcoming academic term.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
  • Ability to develop and manage project timelines and coordinate activities across stakeholders.
  • Hands‑on mindset with the willingness to support equipment installation and implementation activities.
  • Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and teamwork skills.
  • GPA of 3.0 or above (Candidates will be required to provide an official or unofficial transcript during the application process for verification.)
  • Ability to perform work onsite at Canton, MS.
