Job summary

General Motors Corporation seeks a Compartment Integration Design Engineer to balance engineering requirements with aesthetics and manufacturing feasibility early in vehicle development. You will design innovative packaging solutions, lead cross‑functional reviews, and apply DFSS principles to robust design development.

You will collaborate with Architecture, Studio, SMT, Performance, Human Factors, and Manufacturing to ensure packaging aligns with customer needs, space, access, and cargo

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
5+ years in automotive engineering, vehicle integration, packaging, or related areas.
Experience with Siemens NX / Unigraphics CAD tools.

Responsibilities

Incorporate Voice of the Customer insights into package design.
Lead creation of integrated technical solutions balancing design intent and constraints.
Develop, refine, and finalize engineering criteria with design and engineering partners.
Lead cross-functional forums and issue resolution for packaging.
Create NX models to guide surface development and maintain NX proficiency.
