Job summary

Tata Technologies Ltd. in Michigan seeks an experienced design engineer to collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to drive vehicle development. You will design packaging structure, create 3D and 2D data in CATIA V5, and plan schedules to meet cost and performance targets.

The role requires strong communication, experience with production vehicle trials, and the ability to work across cross-functional teams in a hybrid work setting (office-based several days per week).

Qualifications

• Collaboration with internal, external and international stakeholders.
• CATIA V5 proficiency required for 3D data and drawings.
• Experience supporting vehicle development and production trials.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders in cross-functional teams to design packaging structure, prepare drawings, plan and manage schedule for complex engineering problems.
• Lead part development to meet targets for cost, mass, performance and schedule with high quality and efficiency from project start through start of production.
• Develop design data in 3D and create 2D drawings using CATIA V5.
• Prepare process documentation using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Support or lead obeya meetings with commodity engineers and vehicle assembly teams.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
