Job summary

Capital Ford of Charlotte is seeking an experienced Automotive Mobile Technician to join our team. You will travel to customer locations, perform on-site maintenance and repairs, and deliver a superior customer experience.

You will work independently with the backing of a dealership while enjoying variety and ownership of your work. Ideal candidates have automotive technician experience, strong diagnostic skills, and a customer-service mindset.

Qualifications

• Automotive technician with mobile service experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time in the field.
• Experience using automotive diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Excellent attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Professional communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• ASE certifications or related technical certs are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer locations and perform on-site automotive service and repairs.
• Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections).
• Identify maintenance/repair needs during vehicle inspections.
• Diagnose issues and complete repairs and component replacements.
• Explain services and repairs clearly to customers.
• Maintain organized inventory of tools and parts.
• Follow safety standards and keep workspace clean.
• Support team as needed.

This is a great opportunity for a technician who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and is comfortable working independently while delivering a great customer experience. As our Mobile Technician, you’ll bring professional automotive service directly to our customers—whether that means routine maintenance, diagnosing an issue, or completing a repair. You’ll have the tools and support of a dealership behind you while enjoying the independence and variety that comes with a mobile role.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Travel to customer locations and provide professional on-site automotive service and repairs

• Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and more

• Complete thorough vehicle inspections and identify potential maintenance or repair needs

• Diagnose mechanical concerns and perform quality repairs and component replacements

• Work with a variety of vehicle makes and models

• Clearly explain recommended services and repairs to customers

• Provide professional, friendly customer service from start to finish

• Maintain an organized inventory of tools, parts, and equipment

• Follow all safety, manufacturer, and industry standards

• Keep your service vehicle, tools, and work area clean and organized

• Take ownership of your work and deliver quality results every time

• Jump in and support the team wherever needed

What We’re Looking For

• Automotive Technician experience; mobile service experience is a plus

• Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic/troubleshooting skills

• Comfortable working independently and managing your time in the field

• Ability to use automotive diagnostic tools and equipment

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work

• Professional communication and customer service skills

• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

• ASE certifications or other relevant technical certifications are a plus

• Ability to successfully complete required pre-employment screenings
