Job summary

The Pep Boys Manny Moe & Jack LLC is seeking an Automotive Mechanic to inspect, diagnose and repair tire and automotive services while delivering an excellent customer experience. You will explain technical diagnoses to coworkers and customers and continuously learn new techniques to stay ahead of automotive technology.

You will also train and mentor teammates, maintain a clean, safe work area, and adhere to company policies and safety rules throughout shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 6 months of automotive mechanical problem-solving and repair experience
• Section 609 Certification preferred
• State Inspection license if applicable
• Valid driver’s license
• Pre-employment background check
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays and weekends

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications — brake and hydraulic, exhaust, basic electrical, cooling system, suspension and alignment, perform all maintenance services.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to coworkers and customers as required.
• Continuously learn new technical information to stay abreast of automotive technology.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop, adhering to safety and environmental rules.
