Job summary

Group 1 Automotive is seeking an Automotive Service Technician for our Harvey, LA service center. You will perform high-quality repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance on vehicles to meet dealership standards and deliver exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• ASE Certifications preferred
• Prior dealership experience required
• Automotive mechanic/technician experience
• Toyota certifications a plus
• Diagnostic and mechanical skills required
• Tool proficiency expected
• Strong communication skills
• Basic computer skills
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Valid driver's license required

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality repairs efficiently and accurately, following dealership and factory standards
• Conduct comprehensive diagnostics, troubleshooting, and testing on automotive systems
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Road-test vehicles to verify successful repairs
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
• Provide timely updates to service advisors on repair status and estimated completion times
• Participate in ongoing training to stay current with evolving automotive technology
• Uphold company values in all interactions with customers, coworkers, and vendors
