DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will be responsible for conducting a range of preventive maintenance and repair tasks on hand tools as well as a fleet of construction vehicles and trucks equipped with both gasoline and diesel engines, featuring manual and automatic transmissions. Your duties will include skilled maintenance and repair of various vehicles, including cars, trucks, tractors, and an assortment of construction equipment such as rollers, sweepers, and mixers, along with powered hand tools.

Additionally, you will obtain cost estimates for damaged vehicles and execute all related duties and responsibilities to ensure successful repairs. Your responsibilities will encompass executing a preventive maintenance program for vehicles, equipment, and components. This includes performing oil changes, automotive mechanical diagnostics, tune-ups, tire changes, and repairs or replacements of engine sub-assemblies, as well as addressing cooling system repairs, suspension, electrical systems, heating and air conditioning, fuel systems, brake systems, steering, and driveline systems.


Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Work hours subject to change based on seasonal requirements and operational needs.
  • Travel, overtime and shift work required.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Four years of experience in the automotive mechanic trade; or completion of an approved apprenticeship; or
  • Any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.

Special Requirements:

  • This position requires employees to hold a current and valid Pennsylvania Class C driver's license.
  • This position requires possession of a Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Class 1 or Class 4 Certified Inspection Mechanic.

Post-Employment Requirement:
  • Employee will be required to obtain a CFC-12 Refrigerant Recycling Certificate and a 134A Refrigerant Recycling Certificate after hire.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
