Job summary

KingRecruitingServices is seeking a Materials Manager to oversee on-time finished goods shipment, freight, and inventory control in our automotive manufacturing operations in Michigan. You will coordinate purchasing, warehousing, and distribution, develop procurement procedures, and ensure supplier performance aligns with production schedules.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree, recent automotive plant experience, strong leadership and communication skills, plus solid ERP and PC software

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepares instructions regarding purchasing system and procedures.
• Directs issuing of purchase orders and change notices.
• Analyzes market and delivery conditions for material availability and reports.
• Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to policy.
• Arranges disposal of surplus materials.
• Designs systems to implement purchasing, scheduling, inventory control, and traffic.
• Develops plant purchasing procedures aligned with policies.
• Develops supplier requirements to improve timeliness of parts delivery.
• Implements visual inventory management on the production floor.
• Maintains inventories to ensure availability for production needs.
• Sets guidelines with suppliers to improve efficiency and cost savings.
• Assists in inventory budget development and operating controls.
• Develops procedures for engineering changes during model year.
• Supports Vendor Quality Assurance program with Engineering/Quality.
• Resolves disposition of substandard or rejected materials.
• Coordinates product changes with parts, suppliers, and customers.
• Ensures on-time supplies for uninterrupted production.
• Implements computer technology for orderly production and delivery.
