Responsibilities

• Prepare instructions regarding purchasing system and procedures.
• Direct preparation and issuance of purchase orders and change notices.
• Analyze market and delivery conditions to determine material availability.
• Review purchase orders and contracts for conformance to policy.
• Arrange disposal of surplus materials.
• Design systems for purchasing, scheduling, inventory control and traffic.
• Develop plant purchasing procedures consistent with corporate policies.
• Develop supplier requirements to improve timeliness of delivery.
• Implement visual inventory management on the production floor.
• Maintain inventories to ensure availability of materials and parts.
• Set guidelines with suppliers to improve efficiency and cost savings.
• Assist in developing inventory budgets and operating controls.
• Develop procedures for engineering changes during model year.
• Support Vendor Quality Assurance Program.
• Resolve disposition of substandard materials.
• Coordinate changes in parts and materials with suppliers and customers.
• Ensure on-time delivery of supplies for uninterrupted production.
• Adapt computer technology to improve production flow.
• Maintain BOM and databases to support manufacturing software.
• Utilize continuous improvement methods.
• Comply with all safety policies.
