Job summary

Midas in Gary, IN is seeking an Automotive Manager in Training/General Service Technician. This entry path combines service and sales duties with hands-on shop responsibilities, developing you toward store management.

You will assist the Store Manager, guide customers, estimate pricing, and coordinate inspections. The role emphasizes training from within and advancement opportunities within the Midas network.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years store or service manager experience preferred.
• General automotive knowledge required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Leadership and team-building abilities.
• Proficiency with computers and shop software.
• Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service while listening to and consulting customers.
• Following up with customers, services requested, estimated completion times etc.
• Oversee complete vehicle inspections and then make comprehensive recommendations—building computerized repair orders and sourcing parts.
• Deliver and discuss pricing estimates with customers as well as promoting shop service specials.
• Oversee technicians’ inspections, diagnosing and repairing of domestic, European and Asian cars and light trucks.
• Maintain inventory counts.
• Overall cleanliness and organization of the facility.
• Perform oil changes, tire rotations, and very basic technician jobs.
• Other duties as assigned
