Job summary

Walt Massey Chevrolet of Franklinton is seeking an entry-level automotive technician to perform maintenance and repairs per dealer and manufacturer standards. You will handle oil changes, fluid checks, and basic diagnostic tasks while collaborating with service advisors and the Parts Department.

Strong mechanical aptitude and reliable work ethic are essential; a high school diploma or equivalent is required. Equal opportunity employer status applies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Entry-level automotive training preferred (Diagnostic, Electrical, and Engine Repair experience a plus).
• Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and physical dexterity.
• Team-oriented with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform work as outlined on repair orders in accordance with dealership and manufacturer standards.
• Complete oil changes, replace oil and air filters, and inspect/replenish fluid levels.
• Check tire pressure and perform basic vehicle maintenance services.
• Test-drive vehicles and use diagnostic tools and special service equipment to identify issues.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning.
• Communicate with the Parts Department to obtain necessary parts.
• Keep work area clean, organized, and safe.
• Maintain accountability for dealership tools and equipment.
• Communicate directly with Service Advisors regarding additional service needs and time estimates.
• Perform warranty repairs according to manufacturer specifications.
