Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group in Newark, CA seeks a Lighting Design & Release Engineer to support design, development, and release of automotive lighting components and systems.

You will collaborate with design, electrical, manufacturing, and supplier teams to ensure designs meet requirements and are released on schedule, with CAD models and drawings updated as part of the process. This is an entry-level to early-career role offering growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive, or related Engineering.
• 0–2 years of automotive engineering/design experience.
• Proficiency with CAD tools CATIA, NX, or Creo.
• Knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, and product development processes.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support design and development of automotive lighting components and systems.
• Create, review, and update 3D models, 2D drawings, and engineering documentation.
• Manage engineering changes and support design releases.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve design, fitment, and manufacturing issues.
• Support supplier communication, prototype builds, and validation activities.
• Ensure designs meet applicable engineering, quality, and manufacturing requirements.
