Job summary

Big O Tires is seeking a knowledgeable Automotive Lead Technician with strong diagnostic and mechanical skills to join our service team in Santa Rosa, CA. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of vehicles, including GM models, using advanced tools and ADAS calibration techniques.

You will perform engine, electrical, and powertrain work, support diesel repairs, and ensure safety and quality standards. Prior dealership experience and ASE certification are favorable for advancement.

Qualifications

• Experience as Automotive Technician or Mechanic; dealership experience preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of automotive electrical systems, powertrain components, and vehicle maintenance.
• Familiarity with ADAS calibration, schematics, and diagnostic software tools.
• Experience working on GM vehicles is highly desirable.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools, welding equipment, and alignment machines.
• Strong mechanical skills and customer-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive diagnostics with advanced automotive diagnostic equipment to identify issues.
• Carry out repairs and maintenance on key vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and suspensions.
• Repair or replace components such as ADAS sensors, wiring, and powertrain parts as required.
• Conduct wheel alignments and wheel balancing for optimal performance.
• Use schematics and manuals for troubleshooting complex problems.
• Handle diesel engine repairs and auto body repairs as needed.
• Operate welding equipment and specialized tools for structural repairs when required.
• Maintain thorough service records and clearly communicate findings to customers or service advisors.
• Ensure all work aligns with safety regulations and manufacturer specifications.

We are searching for a knowledgeable Automotive Technician to become a member of our energetic service team. The ideal candidate should possess significant experience in automotive repair, diagnostics, and maintenance. Familiarity with a broad range of vehicle makes and models, including General Motors (GM) vehicles, is essential. • Exceptional mechanical skills paired with a customer-oriented approach.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ASE certification is favorable.
