Job summary

BIG O TIRES - Monteverde Group is seeking an Automotive Lead Service Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, while guiding a team to improve customer care and satisfaction. This role demands leadership and technical excellence in a fast-growing franchise.

You will lead vehicle inspections, train fellow technicians, and ensure repairs meet manufacturer specifications, with opportunities for advancement in a progressive work environment.

Qualifications

• Reading, writing and math skills required.
• Valid automobile driver's license required.
• 3–5 years automotive repair experience; vocational training or third-party certificates acceptable.
• ASE certification in at least 3 of A1-A8 required; new hires may have up to 2 years to comply.
• Maintains applicable federal, state and local certifications/licenses.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to manufacture specifications.
• Experience in brake/hydraulic, diagnostics, exhaust, ignition, electrical, suspension, A/C and computer systems.
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to customers clearly.
• Shop Leader: oversee Vehicle Inspection Program and mentor other technicians.

Position Overview

The Lead Technician/Mechanic position requires talent and technical expertise to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, while using leadership and mentoring skills in driving a team toward increased customer care and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to Mfg. specifications
• Background in all aspects of vehicle repair and maintenance including:
  • Complete brake and hydraulic repair experience
  • Diagnostics, Exhaust systems and troubleshooting background
  • Primary and/or advanced fuel ignition experience
  • Electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning and computer systems
• Adequately explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals
• Shop Leader: Complete Vehicle Inspection Program responsibilities as well as training and assisting fellow technicians/mechanics in performing technical activities.

Qualifications

• Reading, writing and math skills
• Must have a valid automobile driver’s license at all times and be able to pass a DMV Motor Vehicle reposr for Insurance Coverage
• Must have a minimum 3 to 5 years of automotive repair experience, completion of Vocational-Technical School program in a related field or demonstrated skills via third party certificates/assessment.
• A.S.E. certification in at least 3 (three) of A1-A8 is required. (New hires with external similar qualifications/certifications will have up to 2 years of employment to comply)
• Maintains Federal, State and Local certification/license where applicable.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people
