Job summary

IAC Group seeks a Launch Tooling Engineer to drive tooling development and readiness for automotive product launches at our Arlington, TX facility. You will coordinate mold design, supplier communications, and validation activities to ensure production readiness and compliance with IATF 16949.

The role requires strong APQP/PPAP experience, root cause analysis, and collaboration with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to optimize safety, quality and efficiency on the plant floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical/manufacturing/related field is required.
• Minimum 5–8 years in tooling, molding, or launch engineering in automotive.
• Experience managing tooling development for new product launches.
• Knowledge of plastic injection molds, tooling validation, and processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead tooling activities for new program launches from concept to production.
• Coordinate tooling design reviews and supplier communications.
• Manage tooling timelines, milestones, and program deliverables.
• Oversee tooling procurement, fabrication, qualification and installation.
• Coordinate mold tryouts, validation activities, and readiness assessments.
• Support APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and launch documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, maintenance and production teams.
• Monitor tooling performance and implement corrective actions.
• Lead root cause analysis for tooling and production issues.
• Drive continuous improvement in tooling reliability and cost.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, IATF 16949, and customer requirements.
