Job summary

Midland College in Midland, Texas seeks a Part Time PT Lab Assistant-Automotive Technology to test, clean, and maintain automotive lab equipment, assist with setup and breakdown of demonstrations, and support instructors with instructional materials.

You will monitor student activities in the lab, ensure safe equipment use, and handle related clerical tasks while following state and college rules. High school diploma expected; summer hours and occasional evenings may apply.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Basic knowledge of shop tools and equipment with emphasis on safety practices.
• Knowledge of shop safety procedures.
• General knowledge of office computer system operation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean and safe facilities, organize materials/supplies and tool room inventory.
• Perform clerical duties in support of the department.
• Operate laboratory equipment and apparatus requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination.
• May assist students in a lab/classroom setting.
• Must be able to communicate to exchange information verbally.
• May require the use of personal protective equipment.
• Other related duties as assigned.
