Job summary

Roush in Livonia, MI is seeking an Automotive Laboratory Technician I to support engineering tests for vehicles, sub-systems, and materials. You will collect data using specialized equipment, operate test stands, and help ensure data quality and efficient testing processes.

The role requires a high school diploma and related experience; calibration and maintenance of test gear are part of the duties, with opportunities to grow into more advanced testing roles.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year mechanical, instrumentation, electrical or fabrication experience.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Good communication skills and ability to learn new skills.
• Familiarity with MS Office and Excel is a plus.
• Knowledge of automotive powertrain systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support execution of test procedures and data collection with specialized equipment.
• Assist installation of test units on stands and connect instrumentation.
• Perform routine maintenance and stock parts.
• Help diagnose issues with test units and data acquisition systems.
• Maintain records of tests, maintenance, and parts changes.
• Collaborate with engineers to operate under experimental conditions.
• Assist calibration and ISO-compliance of test equipment.
