Job summary

Roush is seeking an Automotive Laboratory Technician II (Engine Testing) in Livonia, MI. The role supports engineering testing for vehicle research and certification, assembling complete experimental setups and collecting high-quality data with specialized equipment and software.

You will work with engineers to run tests, diagnose issues, and maintain test systems. The position requires lifting up to 50 lbs and OT as needed, with benefits and long-term growth in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in an automotive environment.
• Minimum 1 year mechanical, instrumentation, electrical, or fabrication experience in a testing environment.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Good MS Office skills with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Knowledge of test procedures, equipment, and data acquisition systems used in testing vehicles, engines, emissions, components, or material properties.
• Able to lift 50 lbs regularly.
• Ability to work OT during the week and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead execution of test procedures while collecting high quality data using specialized equipment.
• Support diagnosis and issue resolution for the unit on test and related software/equipment.
• Assist installation of test units, mounting fixtures, instrumentation, and connections.
• Perform regular maintenance, replace parts, and request shop supplies.
• Maintain accurate records of unit on test, tests run, maintenance, and part changes.
• Collaborate with engineers to operate at experimental conditions.
• Support calibration and maintenance of test equipment for ISO compliance.
