Job summary

Lenco Armored Vehicles in Pittsfield, MA is seeking an Automotive & Integration Engineer to improve manufacturability and assembly efficiency across vehicle systems. You will evaluate mechanical designs, electrical harnessing, and assembly sequences to reduce labor and variation on the shop floor.

The role requires hands-on collaboration with electrical engineers, suppliers and production teams, plus applying Lean practices to standardize work and improve serviceability.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in automotive systems, mechanical design or vehicle assembly.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks, PDM; CAD modeling is a plus.
• College degree or trade school; Mechatronics/Automotive Engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate designs on manufacturability, reliability and assembly ease.
• Spend time on shop floor identifying time-consuming operations.
• Standardize and modularize components to reduce complexity.
• Improve electrical architecture and harness designs to cut wiring work.
• Collaborate with engineers, suppliers and production teams on reliability.
• Represent manufacturing during design reviews and feed back into builds.
• Apply Lean principles like standard work, Kanban and mistake-proofing.
