Job summary

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) seeks an Infotainment UI/UX Design Engineer to join the Production Application Team within the Infotainment Software Department. The role focuses on UI/UX development, wireframes, and user-centered specs for next-generation vehicle software.

The engineer will collaborate across Vehicle Control, Autonomous Driving, and Infotainment teams, conducting tests and benchmarking while traveling up to 20% domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, HCI, industrial engineering, or related field.
• 1+ years of professional automotive infotainment experience.
• Understanding of SRS/SAD/SDD and wireframes.
• Familiarity with Figma and UI/UX design principles.
• Knowledge of human factors and ergonomics for touch-based interfaces.
• Strong communication and ability to explain technical topics to diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and timelines.

Responsibilities

• Plan and design automotive infotainment features and engineering specs.
• Develop UI/UX, wireframes, and user flows for infotainment features.
• Create technical specs from user research and investigations.
• Design head-unit screens reflecting user needs in operation specs.
• Design UX for user-friendly instructions and labels on infotainment interfaces.
• Conduct user acceptance tests and drive improvements.
• Collaborate with Vehicle Control, Autonomous Driving, and Infotainment teams.
• Partner with content providers, prototyping services, and university labs on UI/UX items.
• Benchmark competitors, sense industry trends in UI/UX.
