Job summary

Altec is seeking an assembler for our Indianapolis operation to prepare, assemble and install vehicle and chipper components to required specifications. The role is first shift (Mon-Fri 6am-2:30pm) with potential overtime, requiring reading blueprints, schematics and work orders, using tape measures and basic tools, and maintaining safety and quality standards.

You will learn and operate equipment in the cell, perform rework when needed, support APS initiatives, and assist in cross-training for

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous Altec experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend required.
• Basic computer usage knowledge required.
• Ability to read tape measures, blueprints, and schematics required.
• Mechanical, hydraulic, electrical or manufacturing knowledge preferred.
• Ability to obtain Forklift certificate if required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and install vehicle and/or chipper components per specifications.
• Read and interpret work orders and schematics to guide assembly.
• Operate basic tools and equipment; maintain PPE and shop safety.
• Train and assist coworkers; participate in production system initiatives.
• Move to different work areas as needed to support production.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and daily time records.
