Altec in Osceola, IA is seeking a dependable assembler to prepare, assemble and install vehicle and chipper components per specifications. You will read schematics and work orders, use hand tools, and ensure safety and quality.

This role offers training, time tracking, and opportunities to cross-train across departments; shift work may be required; 5S housekeeping and documentation are part of daily duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Ability to read tape measures, blueprints and schematics.
• State Career Readiness Certification desired.
• Basic computer usage knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret schematics (blueprints).
• Read and interpret work orders.
• Use basic hand tools such as tape measurer and specialty equipment.
• Follow established safety and quality policies, procedures, and practices.
• Learn and operate all equipment within the work area (cell).
• Perform rework as required.
• Support APS initiatives; may participate in RCI events.
• Move to other work areas to support production needs (cross-train).
• Maintain daily time records.
• Install unit vehicle and/or chipper components and accessories.
• Test installed components.
• Master mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and troubleshooting skills.
• Willingness to train new/current associates.
• Maintain and complete any necessary documentation or paperwork.
