A day in the lifeYou start your morning reviewing customer-supplied warranty insights and recent supplier PPAP submissions. With that context, you refine production documentation—Control Plans, DVP&R, PFMEAs, and Standardized Work—to ensure every element aligns with PPAP expectations. Midday, you walk the floor to observe audits and finished product inspections, confirming that processes and parts meet the quality and reliability thresholds Carlex is known for. You huddle with Corporate Quality and the Quality Manager to shape plant-wide quality control standards, then brief cross-functional leaders on any significant quality matters. You wrap up by partnering with customers and suppliers on solutions and, when needed, arranging a quick trip to an assembly plant to verify performance firsthand. What you will leadChampion the Carlex Quality Policy and sustain plant compliance with IATF 16949:2016 and ISO 9001:2015, as well as customer-specific quality requirements.Own the creation and maintenance of PPAP-ready documentation: Control Plans, DVP&R, PFMEA, and Standardized Work.Monitor customer warranty data and supplier PPAP files; drive timely, data-backed responses and actions.Oversee the evaluation of process audits and finished product inspections to assure quality and reliability. In collaboration with Corporate Quality and the Quality Manager, develop and deploy plant-level quality control standards.Ensure quality systems and procedures are maintained and effectively used by all associates.Communicate significant quality issues across all levels of the organization to enable fast alignment and decision-making.Build partnership-style relationships with both customers and suppliers to support long-term success.Work closely with plant teams to resolve day-to-day issues and elevate product and process performance.Occasionally travel to assembly plants to review products on-site and meet with customer personnel.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of government-mandated testing, reporting, and recordkeeping under FMVSS-205, ECE R43, CCC, and other country regulations.QualificationsEducation & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or another technical field required; ORHigh school diploma or equivalent with at least 8 years of relevant manufacturing quality experience required. With an undergraduate degree: 3+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment. With a high school diploma or equivalent: 8+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment.CertificationsIATF Internal Auditor certification required.IATF Lead Auditor certification preferred.Skills & KnowledgeRecent training in Core Tools, or willingness to complete training within the first year in the role.Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Total Quality concepts, and Six Sigma.Strong understanding of IATF and ISO standards and their deployment in automotive Tier 1 and Tier 2 environments.Advanced-to-intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Hands-on, analytical problem-solver with excellent data interpretation skills.Other RequirementsValid driver’s license required for business travel.Regular and predictable attendance required.Off-schedule hours may be necessary based on workload or project timelines, including weekends and holidays.Demonstrated commitment to the Carlex values: Safety, Customer Focus, Teamwork, Excellence, and Trust.
