Job summary

Carlex Glass America, LLC seeks a Quality Manager at its Nashville plant to lead PPAP, control plans, DVP&R, and PFMEA development in line with IATF 16949:2016 and ISO 9001:2015.

You will monitor warranty data, oversee audits and inspections, and help develop internal quality standards with Corporate Quality and the plant Quality Manager. Travel to assembly plants is possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or another technical field required; OR
• High school diploma or equivalent with at least 8 years of relevant manufacturing quality experience required.

Responsibilities

• Uphold the Carlex Quality Policy.
• Maintain plant compliance with IATF 16949:2016 and ISO 9001:2015 standards.
• Lead the development of Control Plans, DVP&R, PFMEA, and Standardized Work to PPAP requirements.
• Monitor customer-supplied warranty data and supplier PPAP files and respond accordingly.
• Oversee the evaluation of process audits and finished product inspections for quality and reliability.
• Develop internal quality control standards for the plant with Corporate Quality and the Quality Manager.
• Ensure quality systems and procedures are maintained and used by all associates.
• Communicate significant quality issues throughout all levels of the company.
• Develop and maintain partnership-style relationships with customers and suppliers.
• Work closely with plant team members to address day-to-day issues and improve quality.
• Occasionally travel to assembly plants to review products and interact with customer personnel.
• Maintain knowledge of government-required testing, reporting, and recordkeeping requirements under FMVSS-205, ECE R43, CCC, and other country regulations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

REQUIREMENTS

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or another technical field required; OR
• High school diploma or equivalent with at least 8 years of relevant manufacturing quality experience required.

Years of Experience

• 3+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment with an undergraduate degree.
• 8+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment with a high school diploma or equivalent.

Other Requirements

• Recent training in Core Tools, or willingness to complete training within the first year in the position.
• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Total Quality concepts, and Six Sigma.
• Strong understanding of IATF and ISO standards and their implementation within automotive Tier 1 and Tier 2 manufacturing facilities.
• Valid driver’s license required for business travel.
• Regular and predictable attendance required.
• Off-schedule hours may be required as workload or project demands dictate, including weekends and holidays.

KEY COMPETENCIES

• Advanced to intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
